Pumpkin entries may be dropped off at the preschool throughout the week of the 18th but ALL entries must be submitted by the morning of Thursday 10/21 to be considered for judging. We've played games to match numbers on turkey feathers, letter matching feathers, and learned a new turkey poem! Make sure your children perform it for you. This way, you’ll have all the daycare newsletters organized and easily accessible. Thanksgiving has been so much fun to prepare for! We introduced the basic story of the first Thanksgiving, and talked about traditions from then and now. Another favorite is Ushers ABCs - there are motions for every letter! Then, come back to it and proofread the entire newsletter. In the long run, it will take less time to do it this way. If possible, take a few hours and write out your entire newsletter in one sitting. March is an amazing time at Toddler Town Daycare in Chicago and Evanston The chill of winter is finally starting to melt away and spring is well within reach. We have been working on letters G and H - how to make them, what sounds they make, and what words begin with them :) We like to learn using song and dance - if you search YouTube for "letter _ song," you will find some fun letter practice songs to dance to. Fill in the empty sections of your template with a few photos and activities from the previous month. Your children have been very engaged in this project and ask lots of good questions! Since apples grow on trees, we also combined the tree study with some cooking for Thanksgiving by making and tasting applesauce in the classroom! Yum!
